Homework for December 20th
I would like each of our Immersion members to post to this Blog an introduction to their research. The main goal of this assignment is to convey some sense of what you are researching and what is motivating that research. The post need not be longer than a paragraph provided it is a "good" paragraph. I look forward to reading all of your great ideas and please feel free to include anything else you would like to your post: videos, links, photos, and the like are strongly encouraged!

Origami -- Made in America
Please use the links below to access some good examples of possible ornaments for our first fundraiser. We will be organizing our sales for the ornaments we produce, so everyone will need to "channel the elf" as the saying goes, and become one with our brethren at the more Eastern side of the North Pole: If you find yourself having difficulties capturing the spirit of year, I highly recommend watching the original "Rudolph". If you have philosophical objections to red-nosed reindeer or if you truly prefer dentistry, please see me.

THE LOGO IS ONLINE!!!!!
Hey guys, I know that I showed you the logo for our immersion in class already, but now it is online for you all to see. I know that it may not be completely accessible for all of the possible applications for it, but I hope that you like it!

Japanese Ad Campaigns
One thing that is notable about Japan is their wacky ad campaigns for products, often involving ludicrous, ridiculous, and sometimes even offensive material. Here is a set of commercials from Fanta in Japan that were on T.V. in 2007.

Buffalo Historic Society Japan Culture Day
Thank you to those from our group who turned out for the 2012 Japan Culture Day at the Buffalo Historical Society! The Park School was the only school represented at the event and the organizers and planners commented on how thoroughly impressed they were with our display of interest and of respect.

Renga
Below is a link to an American renga. Before our next Immersion meeting let's try to complete one poem consisting of one stanza from each member of the group.
